Personal Protection Tip: Learn The Difference Between Cover and Concealment. If you are ever selected for victimization, your first objective is to increase the distance between yourself and your assailant.

Ideally, you should head towards "cover" which will protect you from being harmed. Alternatively, you should avoid taking refuge behind something that merely provides "concealment" but not protection.

Examples of cover include, but is not limited to, engine blocks, brick building corners, and large tree trunks. In contrast, items that only provide concealment includes, but is not limited to, darkness, bushes, and shrubbery.
