Personal Protection Tip: Drivers Of Older Vehicles Are Potential Carjacking Victims

Personal Protection Tip: Many people mistakenly believe that by driving an older car that their odds of being carjacked will be minimized. Carjackers steal occupied vehicles for a variety of reasons other than selling them to a chop shop for a fast financial return.

An older stolen car allows predators to commit secondary crimes: carjackings of newer cars, get-away cars in the aftermath of robberies, drive-by shootings, and a place to dispose of dead victims. Thus, a driver of ANY car, regardless of the car's age or condition can be a carjacking victim. So, whenever you are behind the wheel be mindful that you might be a potential victim.

Thanks for the heads up. I never thought about the secondary crimes.
