Personal Protection Tip: Exercise Caution Before Using An Elevator

Personal Protection Tip: Exercise Caution Before Using An Elevator. Using an elevator can be a potentially risky activity if you use one without any forethought. One wrong decision and you can find your isolated in the presence of a predator.

First, realize that greater safety exists with larger numbers. Thus, if you are alone in a relatively sparsely populated environment, check to see if someone suddenly appears to enter at the same time that you wish to do so. If the person gives an odd feeling, pretend like you forgot something and wait for another elevator.

Also, if you are about to enter an elevator and there is at least one sketchy looking person there, you may not want to enter. Furthermore, after entering an elevator while alone, do a quick scan down the hallway for suspicious activity before exiting it at your desired floor. Other safety precautions include always being on the side closer to the floor selection buttons and close to the alarm buzzer.
