Detroit Gun Rights Activist Launches FREE Resource To Help Find Ammunition For Firearm Owners
Detroit, Michigan - April 4th, 2013 - A local Detroit gun rights activist launches a free online community support group on the Internet that allows Detroit-area members to share ammunition availability reports at local retail shops. The site - Detroit Area Ammunition Availability - solves a vexing and challenging problem for gun owners: how to find ammunition to purchase.
Currently, firearm ammunition is in short supply not only in the metro-Detroit area but also across the state of Michigan and throughout the entire United States. Shortages are being caused by purchasers who are buying and hoarding ammunition in anticipation of any new gun control legislation that may be enacted in the near future, as there has been a lot of political discussion from legislators on the matter ever since the tragedy in Newtown, CT.
The site's founder Rick Ector, a local firearms instructor and gun rights activist, created the online community in response to many people asking him for locations where they can find ammunition. He stated, "Having ammunition to practice marksmanship is a very important component of responsible gun ownership. Every firearm owner who owns a firearm for personal and home defense should regularly hone their shooting ability at a local range, as we will held accountable by the legal system if we miss our targets and harm innocents. This very simple idea could be adopted and duplicated by other groups throughout the country. The shortages won't last forever, but online communities such as ours can make the wait bearable."
Interested gun owners can join the community for forum free of charge and start receiving alerts on their smart-phones whenever there are posted updates on the site. Accordingly, site members can also post their ammunition "finds" on the site when they discover ammunition available for sale.
The community site is located on the World-Wide-Web at the following address: https://plus.google.com/communities/113662953291566158045
