FAQ: Can I Conceal Carry At "The Fillmore" In Detroit?

Ask The Michigan Firearms Instructor

Q: I am attending a show at the Fillmore and I'm not sure if I am allowed to conceal carry in this establishment. I have searched online but didn't see anything that says they are a pistol-free facility plus they don't have a capacity over 2500 per this rule. "An entertainment facility that the individual knows or should know has a seating capacity of 2,500 or more." So I was planning on carrying just to be safe, especially since it's a good walk to and from my hotel but I thought I would ask the expert. Thanks as always!

A: I placed a call with their management and was informed that the Fillmore has a seating capacity that exceeds 2,900. As such, it is definitely a gun-free zone with respect to conceal carry. In addition, they perform a physical search on their patrons as part of their security measures. In all, plan on having a fun-filled safe time without your firearm. Stay alert and watch your surroundings.
