A: In general, Michigan schools are gun free zones unless you have an exemption. There is an exemption in the law that allows CPL-holders to carry handguns in a school (K-12) ONLY IF they open carry. Also, there was some head-way last session to outlaw OC in pistol-free zones via SB59. That effort was vetoed by the Governor.
