FAQ: Is It True That The S&W M&P Jams A Lot?

Ask The Michigan Firearms Instructor
Q: Hey Rick, I heard that the Smith and Wesson 9mm M and P compact jams a lot. Is that true?

A: No. The Smith and Wesson Military and Police model is a fine defensive firearm. I have shot that firearm on many occasions and have not experienced any issues with the ones I operated. Please ensure that you are loading the correct caliber, verify you are holding it correctly, and confirm that you are properly cleaning and maintaining it after each use. If necessary, contact me for a shooting lesson. I'd be happy to work with you.
