Yesterday, an interview I had with a local weekly - The Detroit Metrotimes - was published both in print and over the Internet. The interview largely dealt with the issues of black people and guns and gun control.
In the aftermath, I must say that the published interview entitled "Rick Ector of Legally Armed in Detroit Talks Legal Gun Ownership" reasonably captured the spirit and the substance of the conversation. Some of the topics we discussed didn't make it to print but presumably it had to edited down to fit the spacial requirement.
Initially, I was reluctant to do the interview because the paper employs an avowed anti-gunner who is known for regularly spewing his anti-gun rhetoric within his column. However, after talking to the reporter, I discovered that the impetus for this piece was a ton of blow-back from the magazine's readers after a recent anti-gun rant entitled "Shot to Hell" by the previously referenced columnist. So, in essence, they needed a pro-gun piece to keep the peace with the pro-gun readership.
Accordingly,I will be interviewed on the "Cam and Company Show" this upcoming Friday, Oct. 3rd, 2014 at 3:20pm EST. The topic will be the "Case Against Gun Control In Black America." The appearance can be watched live online in HD at the following URL: http://www.nranews.com
