Ask The Michigan Firearm Instructor: How To Beat Being Cross-Eyed Dominant While Shooting?

Ask The Michigan Firearms Instructor
Q: How do (you) suggest overcoming the conflict of being left eye dominant, but (being) a right handed shooter?

A: The most direct and obvious and perhaps time-consuming yet rewarding method would be to learn how to shoot with the other hand.

Ultimately, you should strive for ambidextrous ability as a firearm carrier, operator, and potential defender. Serious defensive firearm training involves learning how to manipulate, ready, and operate your handgun with only one hand: both strong-side and weak-side.
