Four Insane Ways Apologists Are Backing Obama's Claim About Buying Guns Over the Internet With No Background Check As Being True

Four Insane Ways Apologists Are Backing Obama's Claim About Buying Guns Over the Internet With No Background Check As Being True

A couple of days ago, President Obama called for a press conference to make an announcement about gun control measures he wanted to adopt with respect to gun control.

One quote that had Internet fact checkers scrambling for an Internet connection was the following statement: "A violent felon can buy the same weapon over the Internet with no background check, no questions asked."

In the aftermath, I spent some time on social media debating Obama's quote with his supporters. Four justifications that arose from his fans were these doozies:

1. Obama meant the "Dark Web" which requires a TOR browser and bitcoins. Most Americans are clueless about this lawless environment. This is against current law.

2. Obama meant rogue web sites that are knowingly breaking the law but the ATF and FBI have not found them despite looking for them. This against the law.

3. Obama meant that felons can pay for guns over the Internet at a web site with credit cards, even though they won't have possession of them until a background check is performed. The check can only be done at a FFL. However, they were still "bought" but not yet possessed. This is flat out stupid.

4. Obama meant that online classified ads advertising private sales to be done in person, which is legal but still must follow that state's laws for transfers. This is NOT buying a gun over the Internet.

Obama's supporters will do or say anything to keep him from looking bad.
