About The Author
Rick Ector is a National Rifle Association credentialed Firearms Trainer, who provides Michigan CCW Class training in Detroit for students at his firearms school - Rick's Firearm Academy of Detroit.
Last summer, I was contacted by a Canadian photo-journalist - Ian Brown. He asked me to be a subject in a project that he was compiling entitled, "My American Dream."
As such, he wanted to do a photo shoot and have me submit to him my hand-written notes on what comprises my personal "American dream."
I didn't think too much about it at the time. I participated because it sounded like a fun project to be a part of even if nothing ever came of it.
As a consequence, my profile was one of several that was profiled in a feature over at the NYT. Check it out.
