Does the "generation" of a pistol matter?
Generation refers to the design level. Would you want version 1.0 or version 2.0? For your computer, would you want Windows 95 or Windows 2000? Decide on the features that are important to you: quality, accuracy, price, and etc. In the end, if it provides what you want, it is good enough.
